About the role

As an intern with the Electrification and Automation (EA) division of Siemens Smart Infrastructure, you'll gain hands-on experience supporting power distribution systems that keep the world running today, while also being exposed to our Future Grids technologies that are shaping the power systems of tomorrow - all within a collaborative, impact-driven environment. This hybrid position will be based at our Wendell, North Carolina office location.

You'll make an impact by

  • Supporting project financial planning, forecasting, and Estimate at Completion (EAC) updates for large-scale Energy Automation and Data Center projects
  • Assisting with revenue, cost, cash flow, profitability, and order intake tracking to support project performance objectives
  • Analyzing project data to identify risks, opportunities, variances, and areas for process improvement
  • Supporting change order management, invoicing activities, and commercial milestone reporting
  • Collaborating with Commercial Project Managers, Finance, Sales, Procurement, and Project Execution teams to support project objectives

Basic qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Management, or a related field
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a basic understanding of financial concepts, reporting, data analysis, and proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to work full-time (40 hours per week) during the Summer and Fall 2027 semesters, with hybrid work flexibility and occasional in-person attendance (up to 3 days per week) for training, professional development, and team activities
  • Candidates must be enrolled with the North Carolina State University co-op program
  • Eligible candidates must be located within 50 miles of Wendell, NC, as this role does not provide relocation support
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship
  • This internship is a structured experiential learning program for individuals currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program who will continue their studies following the assignment. Current and continuing enrollment is a condition of participation. Preferred qualifications

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively in a team environment
  • Experience with project management and milestone tracking
  • Experience with business reporting, financial analysis, forecasting, or data analytics
  • Experience collaborating with Finance, Project Management, Procurement, Engineering, or other cross-functional teams
