About the role

WCBD TV is an NBC Affiliate Station owned by Nexstar Media Inc., located in the Lowcountry area of Charleston, SC. Charleston offers warm weather, friendly people, a charming downtown, outstanding food, beautiful beaches, and rich history.

Responsibilities

• Develop client commercials, lifestyle show segments, promotions, and image campaigns from concept to completion.
• Provide creative scripting, shooting, graphics, and editing.
• Submit a reel for consideration.
• Facilitate client commercial production, lifestyle show, news promotion production including shooting and editing.
• Coordinate and assign all necessary creative elements with the Company Hub for commercial and news use.
• Maintain a variety of projects and work with varying production styles while employing strong customer service skills.
• Work extensively shooting and editing projects on deadlines.
• Work within After Effects, Adobe Creative Suite, and project management systems.

Requirements

• College degree required.
• Advanced knowledge of the post‑production process, including media management and encoding video to various formats.
• Broad understanding of marketing and design; ability to translate brand visual identity and style guides into day‑to‑day project creation.
• Software skills: Adobe Creative Suite production package (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Audition, Media Encoder) on a PC platform.
• Ability to multi‑task day‑to‑day and manage multiple projects simultaneously, with flexibility in breaking‑news situations.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong understanding of fundamental design, color, typography, and composition.
• Meet all deadlines, fulfill scheduling commitments, and consistently achieve deadlines in a fast‑paced, rapidly changing environment.
• Strong communication skills to communicate project status, assets needed, expectations, and provide customer service across a large group.
• Physical demands: able to stand, sit, conduct productive telephone and face‑to‑face discussions, make decisions without supervision, make decisions impacting co‑workers, work near others, work outdoors in all weather conditions, work indoors in environmentally controlled conditions.
• Ability to lift, set up, and operate equipment weighing up to 40 pounds; handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
• Repetitive movements required.
• Work may be conducted in extremely bright or inadequate lighting conditions.
• This is an in‑office position.
