Plumber Levels Overview
- Apprentice: Entry-level, learning through supervised work.
- Advanced Apprentice/Journeyman: Hands-on technical work, increasing responsibility.
- Journeyman: Independent journeyman role, handling complex work and mentoring.
Key Responsibilities - Plumber II (Mid-Level / Advanced Apprentice or Early Journeyman)
- Repair, replace, and maintain piping systems, fixtures, valves, and drainage in commercial settings.
- Assist with and increasingly handle installation, testing, and troubleshooting of plumbing systems.
- Read/interpret basic blueprints and specifications.
- Perform pressure testing, leak detection, drain cleaning, and basic system checks.
- Support site clean-up, material handling, and documentation.
- Build expertise in plumbing materials and commercial applications.
Requirements - Plumber II (Mid-Level / Advanced Apprentice or Early Journeyman)
- Minimum 3+ years relevant plumbing/construction experience (commercial preferred).
- Solid understanding of water/drainage systems, fixtures, and basic codes.
- Commitment to safety/quality, reliability, and teamwork.
- Mechanical aptitude and drive to advance under guidance.
Key Responsibilities - Plumber III (Journeyman-Level)
- Independently plan, install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems, fixtures, and equipment in commercial/industrial settings.
- Troubleshoot/diagnose issues, perform testing/balancing, unclog drains, and ensure code compliance.
- Read/interpret blueprints, specs, and work orders accurately.
- Assemble/install piping (copper, PVC, etc.), fittings, and systems to specifications.
- Mentor Plumber I/II team members and share best practices.
- Collaborate with other trades, document work, and support efficient project execution.
Requirements - Plumber III (Journeyman-Level)
- Minimum 5+ years hands-on experience in commercial/industrial plumbing.
- Mastery of plumbing systems, materials, codes, and installation techniques.
- Ability to work independently with high-quality, safe results.
- Leadership mindset to guide juniors; strong problem-solving and communication.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., journeyman license, backflow prevention) or equivalent mastery a plus.
