Commercial Mechanical Estimator
About the role
Engert is seeking an experienced commercial mechanical professional to join our growing preconstruction team. We're looking for someone who understands how commercial HVAC and sheet metal systems are designed, fabricated, and installed—and who enjoys helping shape successful projects before construction begins.
Responsibilities
- Review project drawings, specifications, and contract documents for commercial HVAC and sheet metal projects.
- Prepare detailed labor, material, and equipment takeoffs.
- Develop accurate and competitive project estimates and budgets.
- Solicit, evaluate, and compare vendor and subcontractor quotations.
- Participate in design reviews, pre-bid meetings, site visits, and scope discussions.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have experience as a Mechanical Estimator, Project Engineer, HVAC Project Manager, Sheet Metal Superintendent, or Preconstruction professional, with a strong understanding of commercial mechanical systems and problem-solving skills.
Qualifications
Experience in estimating, project management, field leadership, BIM/VDC, or mechanical construction is preferred.
Skills
Strong understanding of commercial mechanical systems, including HVAC and sheet metal, is required.
Benefits
Competitive salary range of $70,000-90,000.
