About the Role

The Commercial Manager - Refined Products ensures the proper execution of the financial and operational sequence for each deal to maximize platform net back value. This role coordinates logistics movements with the OPLOG team to manage inventory levels within the refinery and staging locations, supplying products for pipeline shipments. It also oversees feedstock and components barge movements, including vacuum gas oil, carbon black oil, unfinished fuel oil, light cycle oil, heavy oil product, and atmospheric resid.

Responsibilities

  • Negotiate specific deals, manage coverage, and maintain pricing changes with ATMI traders.
  • Execute commercial transactions in compliance with all corporate policies and guidelines.
  • Confirm deals in Medissys, convert in SAP, and publish confirmations.
  • Coordinate daily pipeline logistics for Gasoline and/or Distillates with the OPLOG team.
  • Oversee and steward Forecast Files and Pipeline Schedules in conjunction with PAR Planning for Gasoline/Distillate shipments and commitments.
  • Define commercial strategy to accommodate pickup times with Colonial, Explorer, and ATMI.
  • Coordinate logistics movements to maintain inventory levels within the refinery and staging locations.
  • Lead commercial discussions with PAR planning.
  • Plan resolutions for quality issues, upsets, pipeline delays, and RVP transitions; coordinate RVP transition plans with PAPS and PAR.
  • Share market opportunities and intelligence with the team and contribute to TEPRI market strategy and optimization.
  • Assist the Back Office in end-of-month close for all movements and validate deals for BO.
  • Support Middle Office in daily inventory reconciliation and Controlling in monthly inventory reconciliation.
  • Manage receivables and supply future commitment information.
  • Handle distillate blend stock sales to Special Fluids via PAR or third-party contracts.
  • Provide weekly market updates, deal performance forecasts, updated price sets, and monthly results explanations.
  • Ensure new sales and purchase opportunities are discussed and developed with ATMI during weekly meetings.
  • Seek new business development and improvements with affiliates, including ATMI, Special Fluids, and TGPNA.
  • Lead working capital efforts, especially at quarter-end; understand and own inventory.
  • Take on additional responsibilities based on strengths, including handling other products such as naphthas, petcoke, and sulfur.
  • Back up other material groups and provide occasional after-hours support, including weekends and holidays, for urgent business needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in business administration, finance, economics, or a technical degree related to the oil industry.
  • In-depth analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office, SAP, Transport4, and Medissys.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, organizational ability, and ability to work under pressure with time constraints.
  • Skilled cross-functional team player.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Working knowledge of import and export regulations and Incoterms.
  • Understanding of the main refining processes.
  • 7+ years of relevant experience in oil industry commercial, logistics, and scheduling.

Schedule

Office-based employees work on-site 3 days per week and have the flexibility to work from home 2 days per week.
