What You'll Do

  • Execute regional commercial strategies that drive revenue growth, market penetration, customer retention, and sales performance.
  • Partner with the Director of Sales to support sales planning, quota attainment, forecasting, and regional business objectives.
  • Promote assigned product lines throughout the Midwest territory by providing product expertise and commercial support to distributors and clinicians.
  • Build, develop, and manage a high-performing regional distributor network to maximize commercial success.
  • Collaborate with distributor partners to identify, develop, and retain key customer accounts across the region.
  • Attend surgical procedures alongside distributor representatives to support proper product utilization and clinical outcomes.
  • Serve as a clinical and commercial resource within surgical environments, providing product education and technical support.
  • Organize and deliver distributor training programs and product education initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs) throughout the orthopedic and sports medicine communities.
  • Analyze sales performance, forecasting data, and commercial metrics to support business planning and continuous improvement.
  • Support regional trade shows, medical education programs, and distributor-sponsored events.
  • Ensure timely collection and submission of product revision information and supporting documentation to Quality & Regulatory.
  • Maintain required vendor credentialing and hospital access requirements.

What It Takes

  • Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Business, or a related discipline; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Ability to travel approximately 75% or more throughout the Midwest territory.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong customer and distributor relationships in a field-based commercial environment.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and presentation skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results independently.

Nice to Have

  • Five or more years of successful sales leadership, sales management, or commercial experience within the orthopedic surgical or medical device industry.
  • Proven success developing and maintaining relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs) in orthopedics and sports medicine.
  • Experience developing and managing regional distributor networks.
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience managing sales forecasting, performance metrics, and business planning.
  • Demonstrated expertise supporting products in surgical or clinical environments.
  • Experience driving strategic account growth and regional market development.

Qualifications

The role requires balancing strategic commercial objectives with day-to-day field execution across a geographically diverse territory. Success depends on building strong relationships with distributors, surgeons, and key opinion leaders while effectively managing multiple priorities in a highly competitive medical device market. The role requires sound business judgment, strong clinical credibility, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently while partnering effectively with cross-functional teams to achieve regional growth objectives.
