Commercial Maintenance Technician (San Leandro, CA)
About the role
Seeking a skilled Commercial Maintenance Technician to join our team in San Leandro, CA. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity offering a dynamic work environment where you'll ensure the effective, efficient, and timely maintenance and repair of commercial properties.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance tasks as per work orders.
- Conduct minor plumbing repairs, such as unclogging toilets, replacing valves, and maintaining fixtures.
- Perform routine carpentry and painting work, including drywall repairs, touch-ups, and surface preparation.
- Carry out minor electrical repairs like replacing outlets, switches, fixtures, and bulbs within legal scope.
- Complete service and asset inspections efficiently.
- Utilize technology to manage work orders, document service reports, and track time and expenses.
- Source necessary materials and communicate effectively with clients and team members.
- Follow safety protocols, attend weekly safety meetings, and complete required safety training.
- Provide estimates for larger projects and liaise with clients to ensure satisfaction.
- Support additional duties related to building maintenance as needed.
Requirements
- HS diploma or equivalent; certifications or experience in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, or trades preferred.
- 2-5 years of general maintenance experience, including electrical, plumbing, or carpentry.
- Valid driver’s license in good standing and relevant certifications/licenses.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to perform multiple trades.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency with handheld devices, work order systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Able to read and interpret instructions and safety policies.
- Knowledge of OSHA standards and safety regulations.
Qualifications
