Summary/Objectives
The Commercial Loan Closer is responsible for taking ownership of all tasks and challenges related to commercial loan closing requests. This includes ensuring timely and accurate processing of loan documents, completing necessary due diligence, and preparing and delivering closing documents according to internal procedures and regulatory requirements.
Essential Functions
- Processes Commercial Real Estate and Commercial and Industrial loan closing requests, including term loans, lines of credit, letters of credit, and renewals and modifications.
- Reviews credit approval, supporting documentation, and Bank systems to ensure appropriate due diligence has been completed before preparing loan closing documents.
- Prepares closing documents using the Bank's LaserPro documentation system and delivers them to the Settlement Agent or branch in accordance with established Service Level Agreements.
- Reviews and approves settlement statements prepared by Settlement Agents, works closely with Relationship Managers and Loan Assistants to resolve documentation deficiencies or issues, and escalates concerns to Loan Closing Management as necessary.
- Maintains department Service Level Agreements for loan closing requests to provide exceptional customer service.
- Monitors newly received loan requests and tracks work in progress to manage workload effectively.

Qualifications, Education, And Certification Requirements
- Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Experience: One to three years of experience in commercial loan documentation, preferably in a lending/lending support or legal capacity.
- Certifications/Specific Knowledge: Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Knowledge of nCino and LaserPro preferred.
- Training Requirements/Classes: Annual compliance training, New Employee Orientation, On-the-job training, and additional training as identified by management.
Physical Demands
- Must be able to effectively access and interpret information on computer screens, documents, reports, and cash denominations, and identify customers.
- This position requires a large amount of time in front of a computer. This can be done sitting or standing with use of the right desk. This position may require bending and reaching.
Work Environment
- For telecommuters or hybrid roles: Secure home office environment free from background noise and distractions, reliable private internet connection (cable or fiber preferred), and no cellular data (hot spot).
- Travel may be required to attend meetings as needed.
