Commercial Litigation Senior Associate or Senior Counsel

About the role

Husch Blackwell LLP is seeking a Commercial Litigation Senior Associate or Senior Counsel in their Austin office. The ideal candidate will have experience with complex commercial litigation, including factual investigations, discovery, drafting pleadings, taking depositions, arguing motions, mediating disputes, and client communication. State and federal court experience is preferred, along with experience in administrative matters and arbitrations. Second-chair trial or arbitration experience is preferred but not required. Healthcare, Life Sciences, and Education litigation experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct factual investigations and discovery
• Prepare pleadings
• Take depositions
• Argue motions
• Participate in mediation
• Communicate with clients
• Work with attorneys in the Healthcare, Life Sciences & Education Strategic Business Unit
• Handle multiple projects simultaneously
• Articulate legal strategies and courses of action

Requirements

• Minimum of six years of relevant experience for a Senior Associate
• Minimum of eight years of relevant experience for a Senior Counsel
• A Texas bar license or commitment to obtain one as soon as possible
