Commercial Litigation/Disputes Associate (On-Site at Portland, OR)
Latitude is assisting an esteemed AmLaw 100 law firm in its search for a mid-level Commercial Litigation/Disputes Associate to join its Litigation & Dispute Resolution practice in Portland, OR. This is an excellent permanent opportunity for an attorney looking to handle sophisticated, high-stakes litigation while gaining meaningful responsibility, client exposure, and hands-on mentorship from experienced litigators.
About the role
The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of commercial litigation experience, including matters involving general business disputes, multidistrict litigation, and/or class actions in state and federal courts. The associate will manage complex litigation matters from inception through resolution, working closely with accomplished attorneys who are committed to professional development and active mentoring.
Responsibilities
- Conduct legal research
- Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other substantive filings
- Develop case strategy in collaboration with partners and other team members
- Conduct depositions and witness interviews
- Manage all phases of discovery, including e-discovery
- Prepare for and argue motions before state and federal courts
- Communicate directly with clients regarding case developments and strategy
- Participate in settlement negotiations
- Stay current on relevant legal developments and litigation trends
- Take on increasing responsibility, substantive case ownership, direct client contact, and participation in client development and firm initiatives
Requirements
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- Admission to the Oregon Bar (California and Washington bar admissions are a plus)
- 3–5 years of litigation experience, preferably with a focus on commercial litigation
- Strong litigation experience, including drafting pleadings and motions, managing discovery, and representing clients in court
- Excellent legal research, analytical, written, and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple matters and competing deadlines
- Sound professional judgment and the ability to make strategic decisions
- Commitment to delivering high-quality legal services and achieving strong outcomes for clients
- Experience with e-discovery and litigation support tools preferred

Pay
The salary range for this role is $200,000 - $240,000/year. Pay is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, work experience, qualifications, credentials, and location.
Schedule
Full-time, on-site at the firm’s Portland, OR office.
