Responsibilities
- Develop new business opportunities by identifying potential clients and fostering relationships.
- Build and maintain a growing book of commercial lines insurance accounts.
- Assess clients' insurance needs and provide customized recommendations for coverage.
- Prepare and deliver compelling proposals and presentations to clients and prospects.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely delivery and accuracy of policies, endorsements, and renewals.
- Conduct regular reviews of client accounts to identify opportunities for upselling or cross-selling additional coverage.
- Stay informed of industry trends, products, and competitors to effectively address client inquiries and maintain a competitive advantage.
- Ensure compliance with regulations, standards, and company policies related to insurance practices.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, helping them navigate risks and understand their coverage options.
- Actively participate in networking events, industry meetings, and community engagement activities to build strong connections and enhance the organization's visibility.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Valid Insurance Producer License in the relevant state(s) is required (or ability to obtain licensing within 60 days of hire).
- Proven experience in commercial lines insurance sales, with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Strong understanding of commercial insurance products, including property, liability, workers' compensation, business auto, and other commercial lines coverage.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to build strong relationships with clients.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills to assess client needs and offer effective insurance solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in using CRM software and other sales-related tools to track and manage activities.
- A collaborative mindset with an emphasis on teamwork and partnership across the organization.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Risk Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Industry designations such as CIC, CPCU, or ARM are a plus.
- Knowledge of local markets and business communities is highly desirable.
