Responsibilities

  • Identify and develop insurance prospects.
  • Prequalify insurance prospects for insurability and quality of risk.
  • Use lead lists to establish contact and schedule appointments.
  • Meet with prospective clients and existing clients.
  • Maintain knowledge of carrier and wholesaler needs and make recommendations to Account Executive during the submission process.
  • Design insurance programs and recommend coverages to clients based on risk characteristics.
  • Submit complete and accurate applications and related submission documentation to Account Executive.
  • Meet new business production goals and objectives as determined.
  • Conduct phone prospecting, face-to-face prospecting, and social media efforts.
  • Conduct sales presentations to prospective and existing clients on new and renewal business.
  • Explain coverage and exclusions to clients and document explanations in agency management system.
  • Educate clients on agency payment expectations and cancellation procedures.
  • Provide claim assistance to clients.
  • Contact clients for collection of past due premiums, as needed.
  • Develop, maintain, and manage a book of business for additional business and referrals.
  • Solicit referrals from clients.
  • Review existing accounts/policies at least annually to round out accounts and address any changes.

Requirements

  • A valid Ohio Property & Casualty license is required.
  • 7+ years of experience in sales.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience is required.
  • Maintain Errors & Omissions insurance.
  • Meet state continuing education requirements.
  • Knowledge of EPIC system a plus.
  • Ability to work well under deadlines in a changing environment and perform multiple tasks effectively and concurrently.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Reliable transportation to meet with prospective and existing clients.
  • Above average analytical skills to determine prospective client needs.
  • Extremely proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software with the ability to learn new or updated software.

Required experience: 7-10 years of relevant experience. Required travel: Up to 25%. Required education: College diploma (3-year degree).
