Commercial Lines Marketing Associate
JOB SUMMARY
The Commercial Lines Marketing Associate will collaborate with our carrier partners and marketers to support our marketing efforts.
Essential Functions
- Agency specific training will be provided.
- Handles the marketing of new business submissions.
- Provides support to business marketers, commercial lines department and WD management.
- Able to pull supporting information on a new/existing piece of business such as building information, experience mod history, running insurance to value estimators and running loss summaries as needed.
- Solves basic and routine administrative problems directly.
- Refers complex inquiries to more senior team members.
- Completes online rating and quoting with various carriers.
- Utilizes strong communication skills to develop relationships with insurance carrier partners.
- Participates in training and development opportunities for insurance coverage and marketplace knowledge.
- Binds excess and surplus coverage as well as completing affidavits.
- This may include filing for WD’s excess license as well as uploading documents to ELANY website.
- Maintains detailed documentation in our agency management system.
- Completes cross training as needed.
- Adheres to the stated expectations of the E&O Plus Quality Management Program.
Additional Responsibilities
- Collects account information and assists in preparing client proposals.
- Interacts with others effectively by utilizing good communication skills; cooperates positively and provides information and guidance as needed to contribute to the business efforts of the agency.
- Maintains required and additional continuing education requirements for license and/or professional designations.
- Data collection and entry of application for insurance coverage.
- Develops and maintains knowledge of commercial coverage including carrier appetite, procedures, underwriting and risk management techniques.
- Accurately documents conversations in agency management system with clients, sends confirmations to clients and adheres to all other agency procedures that are established.
- Looks up carrier LCM’s and pulls experience mods.
- Actively refers clients to Group Benefits and Personal Lines Insurance Department for solicitation of new business.
- Prepares analysis of client’s program for presentation by utilizing insurance summaries or customized insurance proposals.
- Reviews and verifies policies for requested coverage, corrects information and properly prices new business.
- Participates in training and seminar courses to maintain Property & Casualty license.
- Participates in training and seminar courses to further Property & Casualty knowledge.
- Performs other miscellaneous duties as assigned by agency management.
Requirements
- 5 years of insurance sales, marketing or relationship management experience required.
- NYS Property & Casualty license required.
- Professional designation(s) or working toward one (preferred).
- Knowledge, skills and abilities:
- Strong commitment to high-quality service delivery.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to understand written and oral communication and interpret abstract information.
- Ability to communicate orally and in writing with others to explain complex issues, receive and interpret complex information and respond appropriately.
- Knowledge of insurance products, usage and markets.
- Ability to utilize computer systems and programs and understand functionality.
- Proficiency in Microsoft office.
- Time management, problem solving and decision making.
- Ability to participate in a team environment.
