About the role
The Commercial Lines Leader is responsible for managing the workflow procedures within the Commercial Lines department and overseeing that day-to-day operations is following agency procedures and operations, as well as general management of technical support staff and overseeing customer service operations.
How you will contribute
- Co-ordinate account servicing activities with Account Executives, Assistant Account Executives, Marketing Director and Technical Assistants.
- Monitor job performance and workflow of Account Executives, Assistant Account Executives, Marketing Director, and Technical Assistants and eliminate backlogs.
- Conduct annual performance reviews of Account Executives, Assistant Account Executives, Marketing Director, and Technical Assistants.
- Recruit, interview and hire Commercial Lines Account Executives, Assistant Account Executives, Marketing Directors and Technical Assistants.
- Communicate to staff about changes procedures and changes in Company programs.
- Maintain and revise Commercial Lines Procedures manual as necessary.
- Assign new business accounts to Account Executives.
- Monitor renewals/expirations weekly
- Assist on major commercial accounts, difficult renewal and complicated tasks.
- Support full utilization of automation to ensure efficient operations and maintain standards of operation to ensure maximum use of the system and accuracy of information.
- Perform Semi Annual Quality Control audits on Commercial accounts and report to Quality Control Liaison.
- Facilitate, monitor and implement agency business plan for Department to assist meeting of Agency goals for profitability and growth, and renewal retention.
- Oversee education, training and development programs to increase staff capability and agency expertise.
- Promote open communication and high morale within the department.
- Provide in-house technical answers to all producers and staff on technical insurance issues and coverage and solve account specific problems.
Licenses and certifications
- Property and Casualty license
Skills and experience
- Ability to maintain a high level of responsibility
- Oral and Written Communication skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products and accounting software
- Technical knowledge of standard ISO products, non-traditional lines of coverage, excess and surplus lines, manuscript policies, and endorsements.
- Prior management experience and/or prior experience as Account Executive/Customer Service Representative.
- Understanding of agency operations.
- Effective communication skills, organizational skills, and ability to respond to requests effectively and efficiently.
- Ability to plan and instruct staff members on appropriate information.
- Knowledge of agency software.
