The Account Manager Role

The Account Manager manages a book of insurance business, making major decisions independently and supporting Producers in securing and expanding business. Key responsibilities include:

  • Working closely with Producers and HUB personnel
  • Preparing and implementing transactions and paperwork
  • Understanding clients' insurance objectives and recommending suitable plans
  • Staying informed about industry changes and resolving complex service issues
  • Managing and organizing client meetings
  • Documenting conversations and updating systems
  • Supporting Assistant Account Managers and Technical Assistants
  • Attending industry-related training

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in an insurance Account Management role
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Superior customer service and problem-solving abilities
  • Proficiency with computer systems, including Microsoft Office and automated agency management systems
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to work a regular, full-time schedule and travel as required
  • FL 2-20 P&C License (current with all necessary CE credits)
  • Professional designation (CIC, AAI, ARM) highly desirable
