About the role
Grow and manage a portfolio of complex commercial relationships.
Responsibilities
- Develop, retain, and grow commercial relationships with current and prospective business clients.
- Manage a portfolio of larger, more complex commercial loans, monitoring credit quality, risk, exceptions, documentation, and updated financials.
- Gather and analyze financial information, evaluate creditworthiness, and structure lending solutions in accordance with bank policy and regulatory requirements.
- Approve or decline requests within lending authority and coordinate analysis and approvals for new and renewed credit requests.
- Serve as a trusted advisor by matching customers with commercial, deposit, and treasury-related products and services that fit their financial needs.
- Build referral networks, identify new market opportunities, and represent New Peoples Bank through community and professional involvement.
- Partner with commercial banking leadership, credit administration, and junior lending staff to support strong portfolio performance and customer service.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or a related field, or 10+ years of banking experience focused primarily on commercial lending; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Key strengths: Commercial lending knowledge, credit analysis, complex loan structuring, risk identification, regulatory compliance, strong communication, organization, and customer relationship skills.
- Additional requirements: Regular 40-hour schedule with additional time as needed, local travel, valid driver’s license, proficiency with lending software and Microsoft Office, and completion of required training.
