About the role

This full-time, field-based Senior Service Technician role reports to the Service Manager and is located in Los Angeles, CA. The position supports the growing Los Angeles territory and involves commercial foodservice equipment installations, repairs, and preventative maintenance. Occasional travel throughout California, including San Diego and Northern California, may be required. A combo technician background is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform complex equipment and accessory installations, repairs, and preventative maintenance on commercial kitchen equipment without limitations.
  • Conduct on-site troubleshooting, testing, and repairs, including advanced service of complex kitchen equipment.
  • Manage and maintain proper equipment, parts inventory, and tools on the service vehicle, ensuring safety and readiness.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior technicians, assisting with training and skill development.
  • Lead safety initiatives and ensure compliance with safety protocols, including regular surveys of safety devices and equipment.
  • Ensure post-installation and repairs are tested and adjusted to manufacturer’s recommended settings for optimum performance.
  • Consult with manufacturers, sales representatives, and customers to resolve technical issues.
  • Provide detailed and timely service reports via assigned tablet and collaborate with management on work order status.
  • Deliver professional customer service during reactive service calls, preventative maintenance, and installations, building and maintaining positive customer relationships.
  • Assist in training programs for junior technicians and collaborate with management on continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Take the lead in troubleshooting complex issues and provide effective solutions, escalating to higher-level technicians when needed.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals for required maintenance and service, maintaining accurate records of parts, materials, and components.

Requirements

  • 2–3 years of hands-on experience in commercial installation, service, and repair of foodservice equipment and kitchen/restaurant equipment, or equivalent military or practical experience.
  • Successful completion of an accredited Technical/Trade school preferred, with a minimum of two years of hands-on experience in commercial refrigeration.
  • Advanced computer skills.
  • Ability to pass a background check post-offer acceptance.

Pay

Competitive pay with door-to-door compensation. Total compensation is determined based on experience, skills, internal equity, geographic location, and other job-related factors. Leadership positions may qualify for participation in bonus programs commensurate with role and scope of responsibility.
