Ackerman Plumbing is a family-owned and operated business established in 1946. We provide leading plumbing expertise for commercial plumbing projects including hospitals, hotels, schools, and art museums.
Responsibilities
- Install, assemble, and test plumbing systems in new commercial and industrial buildings
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine layout of systems and materials needed
- Layout, measure, cut, thread, bend, and install pipe, fittings, valves, and fixtures for water, waste, vent, and gas systems
- Perform pressure testing, water testing, and system verification to ensure code compliance and functionality
- Cookordination with other trades to maintain proper sequencing and avoid conflicts in the field
- Ensure installations meet all state and local plumbing codes and OSHA safety requirements
- Maintain accurate daily logs of work performed, materials used, and progress updates
- Support project schedule by meeting milestones and productivity targets
- Train and mentor apprentices and helpers to develop skills and maintain safety standards
- Participate in site safety meetings and enforce jobsite cleanliness and organization
Requirements
Minimum 4 years of commercial construction plumbing experience required. Strong knowledge of commercial plumbing systems, materials, and tools. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, isometrics, and riser diagrams. Experience with underground, rough-in, and finish installations. Understanding of hydronic systems, gas piping, and backflow prevention preferred. Must be able to lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders, and work at heights or in confined spaces.
