About the role
Greater Comfort Heating and Air Conditioning, Inc. is seeking an Apprentice Commercial HVAC Installation Technician who already has basic HVAC knowledge and is ready to further their training on the job. This role is designed for candidates with trade school coursework, HVAC classes, or entry-level field experience who want hands-on exposure to commercial HVAC installations while working alongside experienced Lead and Mid-Level Installers. This is not a zero-experience position. Apprentices must come in with foundational HVAC knowledge — we'll help you take it to the next level.
Responsibilities
- Assist with installation of commercial HVAC systems, including ductwork, rooftop units (RTUs), and control systems
- Load and unload tools, equipment, and materials at jobsites
- Support jobsite organization, safety, and cleanup
- Follow direction from Lead Installers while expanding HVAC installation skills
- Maintain required job documentation
- Travel to regional jobsites (occasionally up to 5 consecutive days)
- Follow all safety policies and procedures
Required Qualifications
- Foundational HVAC knowledge required (trade school, HVAC classes, or entry-level experience)
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Ability and willingness to travel
- Strong work ethic and commitment to career growth
Preferred
- High school diploma or GED
- HVAC trade school or completed HVAC coursework
- Prior construction or mechanical experience
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs frequently
- Ability to work on ladders, rooftops, and in confined spaces
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and crouch for extended periods
