HVAC Installation Apprentice

Responsibilities

• Assist crew leader with installation of air conditioning units and furnaces.
• Assist with the installation and replacement of various HVAC components such as gas furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, electric furnaces, packaged terminal units, ductless split systems, humidification and dehumidification equipment, electronic air cleaners, air purification systems, and residential control systems.
• Explain each service provided for customers.
• Accurately document invoices to include details about system components, services completed, and costs.
• Discuss with customers current and/or future equipment and service requirements.
• Maintain company vehicle, ensuring cleanliness and organization, both inside and out.
• Participate in ALL company-sponsored training classes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Knowledge of operational functionality of residential HVAC equipment is greatly preferred.
• Ability to courteously communicate with customers and take directions from crew leader is a must.
• Must have appropriate trade tools.
• Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record required.
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screen required.

Physical Requirements

• Exerting more than 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or more than 50 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
• Working outdoors, in extreme temperatures, wet/humid environments, and/or with vibration.
• Working with mechanical and chemical hazards and conditions including fumes, odors, dusts, gases, and/or poor ventilation.
• Ability to climb, talk, crouch, stand, balance, reach, grasp, pull, lift, see, hear, and operate tools and vehicles.
