Mechanical Systems and Service (MSS) is a Crete United company in West Monroe, LA, specializing in heating, ventilating, and air conditioning as a specialty contractor. We are expanding throughout the state and beyond and are looking for a Commercial HVAC Technician to join our team.
About the Role
This position covers the Dallas Metro and surrounding counties. You will troubleshoot, maintain, repair, and install HVAC systems while working with an excellent customer base to further develop your skills.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine repairs to pump seals, bearings, etc.
- Inspect and test systems to verify compliance with plans and specifications or to detect and locate malfunctions.
- Determine customer concerns with HVAC and boiler systems.
- Follow standards, policies, and procedures, including safety procedures and the maintenance of a clean work area.
- Record and report faults, deficiencies, and other unusual occurrences, as well as the time and materials expended on work orders.
- Adjust system controls to settings recommended by the manufacturer to balance the system.
- Recommend, develop, or perform maintenance procedures such as cleaning, power-washing, or vacuuming equipment, lubricating parts, or changing filters.
- Install auxiliary components to heating-cooling equipment, such as expansion and discharge valves, air ducts, pipes, blowers, dampers, flues, and stokers, following blueprints.
- Study blueprints, design specifications, and manufacturers' recommendations to ascertain the configuration of heating or cooling equipment components and ensure proper installation.
- Fabricate, assemble, or install ductwork or chassis parts using portable metal-working tools or welding equipment.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 3+ years of commercial HVAC maintenance experience.
- Universally EPA 608 Certified.
- Ability to troubleshoot HVAC components with built-up systems and package units, which may include chiller air handler pump towers, cooling towers, control systems, boilers, and air handling systems.
- Ability to learn commercial expertise in boilers, chillers, pneumatic controls, digital controls, and packaged HVAC equipment.
- Ability to read electronic schematics.
- High School diploma/GED required + equivalent work experience.
