About the role
As a Commercial HVAC Refrigeration Technician, you will conduct scheduled maintenance, service requests, repairs, and equipment changeouts. You’ll work with a support team including dispatchers, coordinators, supervisors, and technical resources, and be equipped with a fully stocked service van, iPad, iPhone, and necessary PPE.
Responsibilities
- Service and install new heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems
- Service and install new ice machines
- Perform routine maintenance on ice machines and refrigeration
- Assess and troubleshoot commercial HVAC to determine required repairs
- Inspect and perform equipment repair and replacements
- Perform routine preventative maintenance and recommend preventative repairs to avoid unplanned downtime
- Respond to emergency service requests
- Provide observations about facility, facility mechanical conditions, and deficiencies, and offer recommendations for enhancement and repair
- Participate in and assist with facility-related projects
- Adhere to all safety policies and procedures
- Work on light commercial equipment
- Demonstrate excellent customer service skills
- Complete paperwork in a timely manner
- Report to job assignments and work in a timely manner
- Work with minimal supervision
Requirements
- 3-6 years of Commercial HVAC experience (Refrigeration Technician experience is highly recommended)
- Valid certification to provide HVAC services in the State in which the work is performed
- Perform work in accordance with established processes and practices that comply with internal and external requirements, including environmental, health, safety, security, and fire protection
- Flexibility to work overtime/weekends as needed with some travel required
- Physical ability to climb and descend ladders while carrying up to 30 lbs., lift up to 75 lbs., and maneuver in confined spaces (e.g., crawlspaces, attics)
- EPA Certification required
- Willingness to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Must meet enhanced security clearance requirements
- Subject to drug, background, and driver’s license checks
Skills
- Experience with industry software (preferable but not required)

- Competitive salary: $30–$45 per hour ($62,400–$93,600 annually based on a 40-hour work week)
- Overtime pay when authorized by leadership
- On-call pay: $150 per scheduled on-call shift
