About the role

Legacy Mechanical Services, Inc. is a locally recognized leader in the Commercial HVAC and Plumbing industries. We are seeking skilled Commercial HVAC Service Technicians to join our team.

Responsibilities

  • Install, repair, and maintain heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems.
  • Diagnose problems with HVAC systems and explain them to customers in clear, nontechnical terms.
  • Relay costs to customers and offer alternative solutions.
  • Inspect and troubleshoot problems with existing HVAC units.
  • Install replacement parts on existing HVAC units.
  • Maintain inventory of replacement parts and order replacements.
  • Comply with company and industry safety standards.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • At least 3+ years of experience in the commercial HVAC industry, or an equivalent combination of training, education, and experience.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of HVAC systems and equipment.
  • Ability to use power and hand tools.
  • Ability to use thermometers, pressure gauges, and other testing devices to evaluate HVAC systems.
  • Ability to read operation and repair manuals for HVAC systems.
  • Excellent mechanical skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, as required to interact with customers.
  • Must maintain a good driving record to be carried on the company auto insurance.
  • Must represent the company in a clean and professional manner.

Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Vocational/technical school training or apprenticeship required.
  • At least 2 years of HVAC experience required.
  • At least 2 years of Commercial HVAC experience preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Physically able to work on HVAC units.
  • Will be required to work in settings with extreme cold or extreme heat, depending on the time of year.
  • Prolonged periods of standing, kneeling, crawling, or climbing ladders.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time.
