About the role

BME is seeking a skilled and motivated Technician to join their growing team. This role is crucial for supporting the expanding customer base by delivering exceptional service, technical precision, and dependable performance.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair commercial HVAC systems, including rooftop units (RTUs), chillers, boilers, DX equipment, fan systems, and refrigeration units.
  • Perform routine service, maintenance, and warranty work to ensure optimal system performance.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance inspections and recommend necessary repairs or upgrades.
  • Track and document work performed, including obtaining purchase orders and completing service reports.
  • Travel to customer locations to provide on-site service and repairs.
  • Train apprentices and junior technicians.
  • Communicate effectively with customers regarding service recommendations and system performance.
  • Aid in ordering necessary parts and materials for repairs and maintenance.

Requirements

  • Ability to carry and climb a ladder up to 28’.
  • Ability to sit and stand for long periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • EPA license.
  • OSHA 10 certification (preferred).
  • 3-5 years of commercial HVAC service experience, including troubleshooting and repairing various systems.
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Experience with mechanical systems, including chillers, DX equipment, boilers, refrigeration, and basic controls.
  • Preferred qualifications: Experience working with chillers, refrigeration, VRV and VRF systems, ice machines, and familiarity with BuildOps.
