Commercial HVAC Service Technician

Responsibilities

• A Commercial HVAC Technician diagnose commercial systems, leads complex diagnostics, installations, and repairs of commercial HVAC, chillers, cooling towers, VAV Rooftop Units, and restaurant refrigeration equipment
• Advanced Diagnostics & Repair: Handle air-cooled chillers, heavy-duty heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and commercial refrigeration equipment.
• Leadership & Mentorship: Overseeing junior technicians, providing on-the-job training, and ensuring workplace safety standards are met.
• Client Communication: Interacting directly with facility managers to explain repairs, provide quotes, complete invoices and recommend system upgrades
• Represent Bates with professionalism and urgency on every job

Requirements

• 5–7 years of hands-on commercial and/or industrial HVAC/refrigeration/chiller experience
• Advanced commercial troubleshooting and diagnostic skills across commercial chiller systems
• Previous VAV rooftop unit experience is required

Qualifications

• Current EPA Type II Certification & TDLR required
• NATE & factory training on major equipment brands are highly preferred

Skills

• Deep knowledge of electrical schematics, refrigerant handling, brazing/welding, and computerized chiller/HVAC software/controls
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record

Pay

$36.00 - $45.00/hr based on experience + weekly pay
