As a LONG Service Technician I, you will maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and install commercial HVAC systems at a moderate level independently. You will collaborate with experienced technicians on complex tasks while following LONG's service procedures. A company vehicle, mobile phone, and work attire will be provided.
Responsibilities
- Specialize in maintaining commercial HVAC systems by changing air filters, replacing belts, recording refrigeration pressures, performing in-depth inspections, and adjusting gas-fired burners according to LONG’s Service Procedures.
- Perform troubleshooting on commercial HVAC systems, refrigeration systems, economizers, VAV boxes, fan-powered boxes, and pneumatic controls independently.
- Conduct basic repairs on HVAC commercial equipment using soldering, brazing, pipe fitting, and unit wiring.
- Use a variety of hand tools and power tools at an advanced level to troubleshoot, repair, and install HVAC equipment.
- Complete basic installation tasks on commercial HVAC equipment using copper and steel piping, sheet metal ducting, equipment hanging, crane direction, and simple equipment start-ups.
- Attend and complete assigned training courses while making steady progress toward Service Technician II.
- Promptly and accurately complete all required paperwork while on the job.
- Deliver outstanding customer service by greeting customers, confirming satisfaction before departing, and representing the company professionally.
- Maintain positive working relationships with customers, technicians, dispatch, sales, and management.
- Work in confined or tight spaces such as mechanical rooms for installation and repair tasks.
- Adhere to safety regulations and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience working with commercial HVAC systems.
- Ability to conduct repairs such as replacing motors and connecting HVAC components independently.
- Knowledge of basic building codes and regulations.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting mechanical schematics.
- Ability to work after-hours when needed.
- Valid CFC Refrigeration certificate.
- Moderate oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills, as well as excellent documentation and organizational skills.
- Moderate proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Outlook, Excel) and ability to learn additional software.
- Ability to drive a company vehicle safely and legally.

Physical Requirements
- Standing for extended periods and working in tight spaces.
- Lifting up to 75 lbs. from floor to countertop and countertop to floor.
- Climbing ladders and working at heights.
- Use of personal hand tools.
Work Environment
- Inside and outside work environments.
- Exposure to high precarious places, general construction worksite hazards, and inclement weather conditions.
Pay
$32 - $44 per hour, plus potential profit share.
