About the role
The FF&E Installer is responsible for the hands-on installation, assembly, and adjustment of commercial furniture and fixtures in accordance with project plans and manufacturer standards. This role works under the direction of an Installation Lead or Foreman and plays a key role in delivering clean, accurate, and timely installations.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, assemble, and adjust commercial FF&E including systems furniture, desks, seating, casework, fixtures, and accessories.
- Follow installation drawings, layouts, and manufacturer instructions accurately.
- Aid with unloading, staging, and organizing furniture, hardware, and materials.
- Use hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently.
- Perform basic measurements, leveling, and alignment to ensure proper installation.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area at all times.
- Communicate progress, issues, or damaged materials to the Installation Lead or Foreman.
- Support punch-list completion, service requests, and warranty-related work as needed.
- Protect finished surfaces and client property during installation.
- Represent Ably Built professionally while on job sites.
Required Qualifications
- 1+ year of experience in commercial FF&E installation, furniture assembly, or related construction work.
- Basic ability to read and follow installation drawings and layouts.
- Familiarity with common hand tools and power tools.
- Ability to lift 50–75 lbs and work safely on active commercial job sites.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail.
- Ability to follow direction and work effectively as part of a team.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience installing systems furniture, modular furniture, or commercial casework.
- Prior experience working on occupied commercial sites.
- OSHA 10 certification or willingness to obtain.
- Interest in career growth toward Installation Lead or Foreman roles.
