Responsibilities
- Operate heavy-duty trucks with front or rear end load lift attachment.
- Provide pickup service of containers filled with waste or recyclable materials.
- Maneuver wheeled containers to a pickup stage area.
- Transport material to disposal, transfer, or recycle facilities when trucks reach legal load capacity.
- Navigate high traffic and congested roadways, driveways, alleyways, and lots.
- Perform pre- and post-trip inspections of assigned vehicle and document checks using the standard DVIR (Driver Vehicle Inspection Report).
- Report all unsafe situations or service-related issues to Route Manager or Dispatch.
- Attend and participate in all scheduled training programs, briefings, and meetings.
- Improve route efficiencies and identify best practices with Route Manager.
- Notify Route Manager of any incidents, accidents, injuries, or property damage.
- Notify Route Manager or Dispatch of service interruptions including blocked containers, closed lots, streets, alleyways, or potential safety hazards.
- Communicate customer requests to Dispatch or Route Manager.
- Identify and report all containers in need of repair or replacement.
- Ensure the number of containers on the route reconciles to the service level listed on the service list.
- Complete and submit customer tickets as required when excessive yardage must be removed.
- Position and return containers on the customer’s property in a manner that ensures lids are properly replaced.
- Ensure doors are closed and secured and containers do not block driveway entrances or traffic.
- Follow route assignments as directed and complete end of day documentation and check out process.
- Perform other job duties as required and assist other drivers as directed.
Requirements
- At least 18 years of age.
- A valid Class B CDL.
- A valid DOT medical card or obtain one prior to hire.
- No more than 3 DUI’s or OVI’s within the last 5 years or 2 in the last 10 years.
- No more than 2 license suspensions within the last 2 years.
- No more than 3 moving violations within the last 2 years.
- Successfully complete pre-employment testing.
- Ability to read and speak English well enough to communicate, understand, and respond to questions, directions, traffic signs, signals, and safety training.

- Physical stamina for lifting and maneuvering heavy containers.

Pay
- $18 - $22 per hour based on experience.
