Responsibilities
- Analyzes and underwrites commercial loan applications
- Ensures compliance with underwriting guidelines and regulatory requirements
- Performs basic financial analysis on less complex loans and industries
- Conducts credit investigations and analyzes financial information
- Communicates with borrowers' accountants to understand accounting practices
- Investigates guarantor's financial positions and prepares cash flow analyses
- Researches economic and market conditions affecting the company, industry, and market area
- Identifies credit applications requiring enhancements and makes decisions accordingly
- Makes final credit decisions within individual authority limits
- Maintains portfolio delinquencies and charge-offs at a satisfactory level
- Maintains departmental compliance with TD Bank Credit Policy, Federal Banking Regulations, and Government Reporting requirements
Requirements
Requires a bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, or a related field. Four (4) years of relevant commercial lending experience are preferred, along with prior lending authority. Strong analytical and research skills are necessary, as is a proven ability to blend technical knowledge with good business judgment. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential, as are strong organizational, multi-tasking, analytical, time management, and decision-making abilities.
Qualifications
Preferred qualifications include Small Business Administration/Agency experience. Physical requirements include performing sedentary work continuously, sitting frequently, standing occasionally, walking occasionally, reaching overhead occasionally, and lifting/carrying under 25 lbs. Occasionally, employees may need to lift/carry over 25 lbs., squat, bend, crawl, climb, twist, concentrate for long periods, apply common sense to solve problems, read, write, and comprehend instructions, add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
Skills
Proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet software is required. Familiarity with a variety of software programs is also expected.

Pay
Base pay ranges from $34.75 to $52.00 USD per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
Schedule
Typically, the Commercial Credit Underwriter II works a standard 40-hour week.
