Responsibilities
- Analyze commercial credit applications to determine the degree of risk involved in extending credit and make prudent business decisions to approve or deny the extension of credit within established credit authority.
- Perform analysis of financial statements, collateral, debt service, personal financial statements, and personal cash flow, as applicable to the size and complexity of the commercial transaction.
- Develop and maintain business relationships with dealership personnel to ensure volume objectives and credit quality.
- Effectively maintain consistent purchase policy based on dealer support, portfolio liquidation, and management direction.
- Perform outbound calls to GM dealer body to educate on GM Financial Commercial products and increase captive relationships.
- Develop and maintain basic knowledge of CVL plans, products, and programs.
- Screen appropriate commercial parties to ensure GMF compliance with the U.S. Patriot Act.
- Ensure all queues are worked to acceptable CVL service levels.
- Support internal and external sales as required to complement sales activities.
Requirements
- Ability to handle high call and application volumes and manage competing demands.
- Work in a fast-paced office environment, subject to daily service level requirements.
- Strong focus on providing quality service to internal and external customers.
- May be required to work additional hours based on production demands, including overtime.
- Limited travel may be required to support business needs.
- Knowledge of credit underwriting preferred.
- Knowledge of dealership, fleet/commercial, and indirect auto finance industry operations preferred.
- Understanding of dealer operations preferred.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and credit bureaus.
- Ability to interface with all levels of management.
- Ability to make sound business decisions based on policies and procedures.
- Able to meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Detailed oriented and capable of managing multiple opportunities simultaneously.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Must be self-motivated and able to work independently.
- Strong oral/written communication and interpersonal skills.
Skills
- Working effectively within an AI-enabled environment: Ability to use AI tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot) to support daily work.
- Skills in evaluating AI outputs for accuracy, compliance, and bias.
- Experience integrating AI into workflows to improve efficiency or insights.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted research, summarization, and content generation.
- Understanding of responsible AI use, including ethics and data protection.
Qualifications
- Previous automotive lending and/or credit buying experience preferred.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate Degree preferred.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- Master’s Degree (not required but noted).
