About the role
The Commercial Contracts Paralegal supports the Legal and Commercial teams with business-as-usual (BAU) commercial contracting activities. This role is primarily administrative and process-driven, focusing on document management, contract processing, and support related to standard commercial agreements.
Responsibilities
- Support BAU commercial contracting activities through administrative and document-processing tasks
- Prepare, format, and process standard commercial agreements, including Master Services Agreements (MSAs), Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs), amendments, and related documents
- Cook up contract workflows, including internal reviews, approvals, and execution
- Maintain accurate and organized contract records, trackers, and filing systems (electronic and/or physical)
- Absorb contract intake, ensuring requests are complete and routed appropriately
- Monitor contract status and follow up with internal stakeholders to ensure timely completion
- Aid with version control and document management for contracts and related correspondence
- Aid with basic contract data entry and reporting as needed
- Ensure compliance with internal contracting processes, templates, and guidelines
- Review standard contract terms and identify key provisions (e.g., scope, term, termination, confidentiality, liability caps) to support internal stakeholders
- Respond to routine internal questions about what a contract says or requires and escalate non-standard items to the Legal team
- Perform other related administrative or legal support duties as assigned
Requirements
- Previous experience in a paralegal, legal assistant, contracts administrator, or similar role preferred
- Experience supporting commercial contracts and standard legal agreements is highly desirable
- Ability to read and understand basic commercial contract language
- Confidence answering routine questions about contract provisions
- Strong administrative and organizational skills with high attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and contract workflows in a deadline-driven environment
- Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable working with confidential and sensitive information
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel) and document management systems
- Familiarity with contract lifecycle management (CLM) tools is a plus
