About the role

The Commercial Contracts Paralegal supports the Legal and Commercial teams with business-as-usual (BAU) commercial contracting activities. This role is primarily administrative and process-driven, focusing on document management, contract processing, and support related to standard commercial agreements.

Responsibilities

  • Support BAU commercial contracting activities through administrative and document-processing tasks
  • Prepare, format, and process standard commercial agreements, including Master Services Agreements (MSAs), Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs), amendments, and related documents
  • Cook up contract workflows, including internal reviews, approvals, and execution
  • Maintain accurate and organized contract records, trackers, and filing systems (electronic and/or physical)
  • Absorb contract intake, ensuring requests are complete and routed appropriately
  • Monitor contract status and follow up with internal stakeholders to ensure timely completion
  • Aid with version control and document management for contracts and related correspondence
  • Aid with basic contract data entry and reporting as needed
  • Ensure compliance with internal contracting processes, templates, and guidelines
  • Review standard contract terms and identify key provisions (e.g., scope, term, termination, confidentiality, liability caps) to support internal stakeholders
  • Respond to routine internal questions about what a contract says or requires and escalate non-standard items to the Legal team
  • Perform other related administrative or legal support duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a paralegal, legal assistant, contracts administrator, or similar role preferred
  • Experience supporting commercial contracts and standard legal agreements is highly desirable
  • Ability to read and understand basic commercial contract language
  • Confidence answering routine questions about contract provisions
  • Strong administrative and organizational skills with high attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and contract workflows in a deadline-driven environment
  • Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable working with confidential and sensitive information
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel) and document management systems
  • Familiarity with contract lifecycle management (CLM) tools is a plus
