Commercial Paralegal
Position Summary
The North American Commercial Paralegal provides administrative and substantive support to attorneys handling commercial transactions, advertising reviews, and marketing-related legal matters. This role is responsible for managing legal workflows, maintaining organized systems and documentation, supporting cross-functional initiatives, and ensuring efficient coordination of legal requests.
Requirements
- Associate or bachelor's degree required (paralegal certificate preferred)
- 3-6 years of paralegal or legal operations experience (in-house or AM 100 law firm)
- Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills
- Proficiency with artificial intelligence tools like OpenAI
- Able to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines
- Experience supporting commercial transactions and/or advertising review processes preferred
- Familiarity with advertising law, FTC regulations, or consumer protection matters
- Familiarity with legal intake systems, workflow tools, or tracking dashboards
- Familiarity with consumer products, advertising, marketing, or regulatory environments
Key Responsibilities
- Support commercial transactions and legal operations, including drafting, reviewing, and managing commercial contracts and related documentation
- Aid in the development, maintenance, and adoption of standard operating procedures (SOPs), playbooks, training materials, tools, and process documentation
- Maintain intake trackers and dashboards to manage legal requests and workload visibility and support on follow-up requests
- Track and report on legal operational metrics and identify process improvements or bottlenecks
- Coordinate advertising and marketing legal review processes, ensuring requests are complete and aligned with legal guidance prior to attorney review
- Maintain organized repositories of internal and external legal guidance
- Track campaign approvals and monitor implementation of legal advice in marketing initiatives
- Conduct legal and industry research and summarize findings
- Prepare, send, and file correspondence, memoranda, and legal documents; Maintain organized electronic and physical files for legal matters
- Cook up calendars, scheduling, and communications for multiple attorneys
- Assist with billing processes, document filing, and general administrative support
- Support compliance initiatives and internal audits
