Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and welding procedure specifications (WPS).
  • Specifically for this position, the ability to weld steel pipe, schedule 40 Fabricate and assemble structural metal products, such as framework or shells for machinery, tanks, and other commercial structures.
  • Cut, grind, and prepare metal surfaces for welding.
  • Operate and maintain welding equipment, including welders, torches, grinders, and other power tools.
  • Inspect welds for quality and adherence to specifications, performing repairs as needed.
  • Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Collaborate with other tradespeople and project managers to ensure efficient project completion.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Troubleshoot welding issues and perform minor equipment maintenance.

Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of a recognized welding program or apprenticeship.
  • Proven experience as a Commercial Construction Welder, with a strong portfolio of completed projects.
  • 6G certified or the ability to obtain 6G certification
  • Proficient in various welding techniques, including MIG, TIG, Stick, and FCAW.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and welding symbols accurately.
  • Strong understanding of welding safety procedures and best practices.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced construction environment.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
  • Physical ability to lift heavy objects, stand for extended periods, and work in various weather conditions.
  • Reliable transportation to various job sites.
