Commercial Construction Superintendent

MCL Construction · La Vista, NE · 1 mo ago
Management$5/hrFull-time

About the role

We’re looking for a Construction Superintendent who brings order, accountability, and pride to every site they run. This person earns trust fast and treats every subcontractor, owner, and crew like a long-term partner.

Responsibilities

  • Run the Project
Lead all on-site operations for commercial projects typically ranging $5M–$30M+ safely, clean, on schedule, and within budget.
Own the master schedule and manpower planning; always maintain a clear six-week look-ahead.
Direct resource allocation, equipment use, and field cost control.
Get ahead of schedule, budget, and scope issues before they become problems.
Manage field documentation: RFIs, submittals, change orders, QC records, and closeout.
    Lead people and partners.

  • Serve as the primary on-site point of contact for owners, architects, engineers, and subs.
Lead preconstruction meetings and weekly coordination with a focus on safety, schedule, and quality.
Hold subcontractors accountable to performance and quality standards—professionally and consistently.
Resolve field conflicts quickly so work keeps moving.
Hold the line on safety and quality.

  • Maintain a visible, no-compromise safety presence on-site every single day.
    Run toolbox talks, safety meetings, and inspections;
    Document and address hazards immediately.
Enforce MCL’s quality standards so the finished product is something the whole crew is proud of.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of progressive construction experience, with 3+ years running jobs as a superintendent.
  • Proven track record delivering commercial projects in the $5M–$30M+ range.
  • Know your way around scheduling systems (Procore, P6, or similar) and actually use look-ahead planning.
  • Fluent in contract documents, submittals, RFIs, and change order management.
  • OSHA 30 certification required; First Aid/CPR a plus.
  • Communicate directly and clearly— with owners, subs, and your own team.
  • Manage a clean, organized, professional job site without being told to.
  • Able to travel or take extended project assignments when the work calls for it.

Qualifications

  • Passionate— you care deeply about the work, the craft, and the people around you.
  • Dedicated— you show up fully every day. When things get hard—and they will—you stay engaged.
  • Thorough— details matter. You don't hand something off or close it out until it's done right.
  • Respectful— you treat the owner, the sub, the laborer, and everyone in between with respect. It's not situational here—it's the standard.
