Commercial Construction Superintendent
Overview
Kelley Construction is a multi-faceted commercial and industrial general contractor licensed to perform work in many states across the United States. We offer a wealth of technical expertise in all areas of commercial construction including: restaurants, medical facilities, warehousing, fast food chains, large design-build expansions and general office renovation. We also have broad experience in industrial construction, from liquid storage and containment and petroleum related construction to pre-engineered metal buildings and concrete construction.
About the role
The successful candidate will become an integral member of the Kelley Construction team supervising on-site building activities. Kelley Construction's market to include but not limited to restaurant new construction, renovations and additions, medical facilities, warehousing, office buildings and large design-build expansions.
Responsibilities
- Maintain responsible construction schedule and budget
- Maintain a safe jobsite for all Kelley Construction and subcontractor employees
- Represent the company as Best-in-Class in job meetings with owners, architects, subcontractors and inspectors
- Ability to effectively use different computer software to complete daily tasks such as expense approval for receipts, pictures, email, site management, time entry, etc.
- Communicate with Kelley Construction office and project manager regarding jobsite requirements to maintain productivity, quality, and schedule
- Ability to communicate and coordinate with owner/client vendors when needed
- All other duties assigned by Field Operations Director
Requirements
- 5 years of commercial construction experience as a superintendent is strongly desired
- Ability to effectively communicate professionally with all personnel, clients, customers, and architects
- Strong managerial skills
- Experience in concrete, framing and finish carpentry
- Familiarity with computers and ability to use company software
- Must be able to work in the U.S. and possess a valid driver's license
- Team player
- Ensuring that safety practices are followed on the job site
- Ability to follow instructions, read and interpret instructions
Physical demands
- Ability to lift and carry up to 90 lbs.
- Must be able to climb and work from heights.
- Individual must be able to work in inclement weather conditions.
- Will be required to work around wood dust and fumes.
