We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Commercial Construction Project Manager to join our team. This role will be focused on government projects and will require a deep understanding of the construction industry, particularly in the government sector. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing large-scale commercial construction projects and will possess strong leadership skills. The candidate must have experience working with a general contractor. This is a permanent position and will require a commitment to excellence, strategic planning, and quality control.
Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of commercial construction projects from inception to completion.
- Work closely with government agencies such as NAVFAC and/or Army Corps to ensure all project requirements are met.
- Lead and coordinate project teams, including subcontractors and project staff.
- Develop and implement project budgets, manage project-related finances, and ensure financial objectives are met.
- Oversee project scheduling and ensure timelines are adhered to.
- Implement and monitor quality control procedures, ensuring all work meets or exceeds standards.
- Make strategic decisions related to project planning and execution.
- Communicate effectively with all stakeholders, including clients, team members, and government representatives.
Qualifications
- B.S. in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field position, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 7 years of industry experience, preferably in Government general contracting.
- Proven experience in planning, leadership, decision making, and team leadership.
- Demonstrated experience in construction management and strategic planning.
- Strong knowledge of quality control procedures in the construction industry.
- Experience working with NAVFAC and/or Army Corps is preferred.
- Ability to coordinate project-related finances and implement project budgets.
- Experience with construction project scheduling.
- Must have strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
