Commercial Cleaner- 1st Shift

Pay: $19.94 - $23.46 per hour, depending on geographic location, experience, qualifications, and collective-bargaining status.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, and wash floors and other interior surfaces.
• Operate light and heavy commercial floor buffers, shampoo machines, and attachments.
• Vacuum rugs in offices and public areas; spot-clean and shampoo rugs as directed.
• Clean and dust furniture, exhibit cases, pictures, chairs, door trim, light fixtures, and all other horizontal surfaces, including periodic high dusting.
• Wash windowsills, interior glass doors, partitions, and specified windows.
• Wash glass and trim at entrance doors, both interior and exterior.
• Spot-clean interior walls daily as appropriate.
• Clean bathrooms daily: damp-wipe glass surfaces, empty waste baskets, service soap and toilet-paper dispensers, dust sills, clean tile walls, shelves, stall partitions, sweep/mop/scrub floors.
• Monitor and report defects such as clogged urinals and burned-out lights.
• Collect building trash daily, place it in approved containers, and move to designated collection area.
• Replace liners in waste baskets and trash containers per specifications.
• Sweep or shovel snow from steps, walkways, and sidewalks at building entrances as directed.
• Perform periodic tasks: high dusting, leather and wood surface polishing, wall washing.
• Carry out any other assigned duties.

Requirements

• No previous cleaning experience required.
• Ability to take direction, work with minimal supervision, and function cooperatively as part of a team.
• Proficiency in using cleaning tools and equipment, including backpack-style portable vacuum cleaners.
• Attention to detail, pride in delivering excellent service, strong organizational skills, and high levels of energy and endurance.
