Cleaner- 1st Shift

About the role

The Cleaner will work under the supervision of the Custodial Manager or Supervisor and perform a variety of custodial duties for C&W Services in accordance with established standards, instructions, and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, and wash floors and other interior surfaces.
• Operate light and heavy commercial floor buffers and shampoo machines, including attachments.
• Vacuum rugs in offices and public areas; spot‑clean daily and shampoo rugs as directed.
• Clean and dust furniture, exhibit cases, pictures, chairs, door trim, light fixtures, and all other horizontal surfaces; perform periodic high dusting.
• Wash windowsills; interior glass on doors, partitions, and specified windows.
• Wash glass and trim at entrance doors, interior and exterior.
• Wash/spot‑clean interior walls as appropriate daily.
• Clean bathrooms and restock paper supplies daily, including damp‑wiping glass surfaces, emptying waste baskets, servicing soap and toilet‑paper dispensers, dusting sills, cleaning tile walls, shelves, stall partitions, and sweeping/mopping/scrubbing floors.
• Monitor for defects such as clogged urinals or lights out and report to supervisors.
• Collect building trash daily, place it in approved containers, and move it to designated collection areas for removal.
• Replace liners in waste baskets and trash containers per specifications.
• Sweep or shovel snow from steps, building entrances, and connecting walkways/sidewalks as directed.
• Perform periodic work such as high dusting, leather and wood surface polishing, and wall washing.
• Any other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• No previous experience required for basic cleaning responsibilities.
• Ability to take direction, work with minimal supervision, and function cooperatively as part of a team.
• Proficiency with cleaning tools and equipment, including use of a portable backpack‑style vacuum cleaner.
• Attention to detail, pride in delivering excellent service, strong organization skills, and high levels of energy and endurance.

Pay

$16.00 – $17.00 per hour (the company will not pay less than minimum wage).
