Job Description
Reporting to the Commercial Sales Manager, the Commercial Buyer is responsible for identifying, developing, and managing relationships with suppliers while sourcing ferrous and non-ferrous scrap metal. This role combines business development, account management, and strategic purchasing to drive profitable growth across an assigned territory.
The ideal candidate is a proactive relationship builder with strong negotiation skills who thrives in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment and enjoys spending time in the field meeting with new and existing partners.
What you’re responsible for
- Negotiating commodity purchases of ferrous and non-ferrous scrap metal, including pricing, contracts, and shipment terms to maximize profitability.
- Possessing strong sales and negotiation skills with a focus on building long-term customer relationships.
- Possessing knowledge of scrap metals and market pricing trends (preferred, but not required).
- Possessing excellent communication skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office or similar tools.
- Being highly organized, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple priorities.
- Willingness to travel up to 50% and work flexible hours.
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus.
