The Commercial Banking Officer at Republic Bank is responsible for calling on business banking clients for depository, lending, and fee-based opportunities in the Bank’s market. This position targets companies with $1 million to $10 million in annual revenue.

Position Purpose and Objectives
The Commercial Banking Officer will call on business banking clients to explore depository, lending, and fee-based opportunities. This role will focus on C&I, Commercial Real Estate, and Depository production and growth goals. The ideal candidate must be authorized to work in the U.S. and have at least 5 years of banking experience, including 1 year of direct business lending experience.
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years banking experience with at least 1 year of direct business lending experience
- Proficient knowledge and ability in underwriting business loans involving commercial real estate, accounts receivable, inventory, and equipment
- Previous experience with working capital lines of credit and letters of credit
- Previous experience working with the Small Business Administration and their various loan programs
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products and internet applications
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities
- Primarily focused on new business development by sourcing, developing, and documenting calls on prospective customers and referral sources
- Manage commercial banking relationships, including analyzing business financials, having a detailed understanding of the business and their income statement and balance sheet
- Negotiate and structure new loan terms and manage renewal opportunities
- Work closely with Treasury Management to identify and structure depository opportunities
- Manage portfolio delinquencies within assigned and/or developed portfolio
- Work closely with associates with Merchant Services and Credit Card to develop opportunities
- Be involved in the community through volunteerism on civic and non-profit boards
- Support the collection of past due loans
- Obtain annual financial statements for commercial credit analyst’s evaluation
- Respond to referrals from Senior Management of the Bank, and the company and others
- Maintain and enhance the relationships with the Bank's customers and referral sources
- Responsible for cross-selling all company products and services
- Learn the credit culture of Republic Bank in order to present appropriate credits for approval
- Maintain a working knowledge of compliance requirements affecting your position and area of responsibilities and actively learn new regulations and assist in the implementation, if required

- Willingly perform all other duties and projects as assigned
- Interact with clients to meet financial investment objectives, understand financial analysis, and communicate effectively with senior management

- Manage and prioritize multiple tasks, recommend practical ways using innovation, good judgment, creativity, and strategic thinking

Other Requirements
- Travel between Republic Banking facilities may be required, including occasional out of town travel
- A flexible work schedule may include some evenings, weekends, and/or overtime
- Stay abreast of new developments, best practices, and statutory and regulatory changes
