About the role
National Bank of Arizona is seeking a Commercial Banker to join their East Valley team. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of the East Valley and surrounding communities, along with a track record of successfully attracting new business relationships and deepening existing client relationships.
Responsibilities
- Support the development and maintenance of profitable commercial banking relationships.
- Establish, develop, and maintain an aggressive prospect calling program to identify potential relationship opportunities and align with NBAZ’s core values and strategic objectives.
- Interpret and implement commercial loan policies and contribute to a sound and profitable loan portfolio with maximum income and minimum losses.
- Minimize credit problems and/or delinquencies by maintaining high credit standards, good documentation procedures, and timely collection efforts.
- Make loan presentations and decision recommendations to senior lenders and/or loan committees.
- Participate in the completion of transactions with the sales team.
Qualifications
- A four-year college degree in business, accounting, or finance is preferred with 2+ years of direct commercial lending experience in C&I or other complex commercial lending.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may meet qualifications.
- Knowledge of commercial loans, credit, and related lending processes and procedures is required.
- Local candidates are highly preferred due to expertise and pipelines in surrounding AZ communities.
- Knowledge of commercial credit analysis, financial statement spreading and analysis, credit scoring, documentation, etc., is necessary.
- A demonstrated ability to develop and maintain major banking relationships is strongly preferred.
- Applies highly advanced technologies, scientific principles, theories, and concepts in decision-making and problem-solving activities.
- Requires an in-depth knowledge of related fields and the ability to apply that information to the current role.
- Detail-oriented, able to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills with strong financial and credit analysis skills are essential to this role.
- Strong creative problem-solving, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish languages is preferred.
