Commercial Auditor

About the role

The Commercial Auditor at First Business Bank conducts audits of both prospective and existing client businesses, focusing on accounts receivable, inventory, accounts payable, and cash accounts. The role involves performing audits on-site or virtually, assessing financial records, and recommending plans of action to minimize potential exposure to the Bank's collateral position.

Responsibilities

• Conduct client audits, evaluate collateral through inspection, testing, ratio analysis, and inquiries of customer personnel.
• Assess the reliability of financial records (collateral and financial statements) by analyzing client records, procedures, and controls.
• Determine the quality of working capital collateral to ensure the collectability of accounts receivable and the recovery value of inventory in a liquidation scenario.
• Recommend plans of action to mitigate potential exposure to the Bank's collateral position.
• Submit well-written, clear, and concise reports highlighting major issues regarding collateral risk, exposure, and significant findings.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a Business-related field preferred.
• Demonstrated understanding of accounting and financial principles.
• Strong written communication skills and ability to assess and analyze information, formulate conclusions, and prepare well-written reports.
• A strong desire to be curious and inquisitive, with self-confidence to ask questions.
• Experience with overnight and out-of-state travel, up to 25% of the time.
