About the Role

Identify, select, and allocate appropriate vendors and subcontractors to ensure cost competitiveness, reliability, quality, and timeliness of delivery. Direct and manage labor and materials to meet company goals and objectives, maintaining pace with sales.

Responsibilities

  • Solicit new suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors to control costs, improve quality, and increase production throughput.
  • Evaluate existing subcontractors for cost reduction or better service/quality.
  • Establish and maintain subcontractor and vendor agreements according to company standards.
  • Resolve specifications, scope of work, and plan conflicts.
  • Contract all operating vendors and subcontractors.
  • Initiate and maintain a purchase order system for crucial project elements.
  • Participate in management team review meetings to identify cost/service/quality issues.
  • Monitor material variances and provide feedback to the estimating function.
  • Oversee work to reduce waste, repairs, and cost overruns.
  • Create and oversee global scheduling to allocate labor and material resources effectively.
  • Provide weekly updates to the Sr. Project Executive on ongoing projects and activities.
  • Communicate purchasing programs, agreements, and trends.

Work Environment

Ability to work effectively with and manage others in a fast-paced environment, both in the office and field. Handle multitasking challenges from sales to project completion under tight deadlines.

Requirements

  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Experience in general contracting, including site work, concrete, wood framing, interior & exterior finishes, and MEP systems.
  • Thorough knowledge of OSHA requirements for construction.
  • Ability to read drawings, specs, and other construction documents.
  • Skill in identifying quality workmanship as per building codes, industry standards, and contract documents.
  • Capability to produce, maintain, and direct project schedules.
  • 5+ years of construction management experience.

Qualifications

A 4-year degree in Construction Management is desired.
