Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, diagnosis and repair vehicles and equipment using current diagnostic equipment.
- Use commercial and military service and repair manuals and wiring semantics.
- Repair automotive vehicles from pickup trucks to heavy equipment such as loaders, laydown machines, etc.
- Repair/rebuild vehicle systems including but not limited to hydraulic, brake, steering, engine, transmissions, differentials, and water/product distributing.
- Follow all HAZMAT and shop safety procedures.
- Complete all job related paperwork correctly.
- Perform annual and safety inspections on all vehicle and equipment assigned.
- Remove and replace engines and transmission assemblies and/or components.
- Perform welding on various types of metals and equipment.
Requirements
- Education: High School diploma, or equivalent.
- Experience: At least 4 years' experience in the vehicle mechanic career field.
- Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of electronic engine control diagnostic equipment.
- Experience: Experience working on general-purpose automobiles to heavy equipment, material handling equipment, overheads, teardowns and rebuilds on diesel engines, removing and installing engines, and overhauls on gasoline engines.
- Certifications: Welding certifications on the MIG/TIG/Plasma and ARC welding.
- License: Class A Nevada CDL is desirable.
Qualifications
- US Citizenship.
- Security Clearance: Eligibility to obtain and maintain Top Secret/SSBI and access to work locations.
- Skills: Ability to use good judgment and common sense, follow instructions, be punctual, and work under stress, identify areas needing attention, and solve problems.
- Travel: May be required to spend 3-5 nights away from home on a weekly basis.
