COMBO Heavy Duty Repairman/Welder

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnosis and repair vehicles and equipment using current diagnostic equipment.
• Use commercial and military service and repair manuals and wiring semantics.
• Repair automotive vehicles from pickup trucks to heavy equipment such as loaders, laydown machines, etc.
• Repair/rebuild vehicle systems including but not limited to hydraulic, brake, steering, engine, transmissions, differentials, and water/product distributing.
• Follow all HAZMAT and shop safety procedures.
• Complete all job related paperwork correctly.
• Perform annual and safety inspections on all vehicle and equipment assigned.
• Remove and replace engines and transmission assemblies and/or components.
• Perform welding on various types of metals and equipment.

Requirements

• Education: High School diploma, or equivalent.
• Experience: At least 4 years' experience in the vehicle mechanic career field.
• Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of electronic engine control diagnostic equipment.
• Experience: Experience working on general-purpose automobiles to heavy equipment, material handling equipment, overheads, teardowns and rebuilds on diesel engines, removing and installing engines, and overhauls on gasoline engines.
• Certifications: Welding certifications on the MIG/TIG/Plasma and ARC welding.
• License: Class A Nevada CDL is desirable.

Qualifications

• US Citizenship.
• Security Clearance: Eligibility to obtain and maintain Top Secret/SSBI and access to work locations.
• Skills: Ability to use good judgment and common sense, follow instructions, be punctual, and work under stress, identify areas needing attention, and solve problems.
• Travel: May be required to spend 3-5 nights away from home on a weekly basis.
