Combination Welder - 1st Shift (M-F; 7 AM - 3 PM) $26.80

We are currently looking for a Combination Welder to be based out of Philadelphia. Reporting to the Manufacturing Supervisor, this role supports manufacturing operations through safe equipment operation, welding, quality inspections, inventory maintenance, and technical drawing interpretation. Experience in lean manufacturing or a business system-based company is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient workplace by following all 5S, Standard Operating, and Safety Procedures, including wearing required PPE.
• Ensure all processes are carried out with the required use of safety controls and PPE.
• Cross-train in different areas of the shop as required.
• Maintain inventory by identifying and labeling product and WIP.
• Perform necessary pre-operation activities to ensure proper equipment startup and operation on multiple pieces of equipment.
• Perform MIG and TIG welding of aluminum, steel, galvanized, and stainless-steel material.
• Inspect quality of work performed.
• Monitor and change gas tanks and wire as needed, facilitating the reorder process.
• Use precision measuring devices, such as calipers, micrometers, and protractors.
• Read and interpret blueprints.
• Communicate with team members and support teams to ensure continuous production of the correct product at high quality levels with minimal wasted time and materials.
• Ensure production recording is completed as required.
• Maintain housekeeping and sanitation.
• Perform tasks as assigned by management.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent (preferred).
• Technical School Welding Certificate (preferred).
• 6+ months of welding experience.
• Ability to work scheduled hours Monday–Friday, 7 AM–3 PM.
• Ability to read a tape measure.
• Ability to squat, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to stand and work a 10-hour shift in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing environment.
• Must be willing to work overtime as needed.

Working Environment

• Exposure to fumes, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration.
• Loud noise levels in the plant environment.

• Use of safety equipment including safety glasses, hearing protectors, hi-visibility uniforms, and metatarsal steel-toed work boots.

Pay

As of the date of this posting, the starting pay for this position is $22.57 per hour. Placement in the range depends on competencies, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, performance, shift, travel requirements, and business needs. Other compensation may include overtime, shift differentials, bonuses, commissions, stock, and incentives.
