Combination Building Inspector- Electrical
Qualifications
- Must have a Journeyman or Master Electrician License and two (2) years of progressively responsible building inspection, construction, plan review, or closely related experience; or any equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities have been achieved.
- Must be able to obtain within one year of employment and maintain International Code Council (ICC) or International Association of Electrical Inspectors certification as an Electrical Inspector or other inspection certifications required for assigned duties.
Knowledge and Skills
- Knowledge of county, state, and federal statutes, ordinances, building codes, and regulations.
- Knowledge of construction methods, materials, inspection practices, and accepted building standards.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, specifications, and technical reports.
- Skill in communicating technical information clearly and professionally to customers and coworkers.
- Skill in maintaining accurate records and using computer software and inspection management systems.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, contractors, design professionals, and the public.
