Combination Building Inspector

About the role

SAFEbuilt is seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as a Building Official. This position involves overseeing building codes and regulations, conducting inspections, and ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal building standards.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the enforcement of building codes and regulations
• Conduct routine and special inspections of construction projects
• Review and approve building plans and permits
• Provide technical guidance and training to contractors and developers
• Respond to complaints and investigate violations of building codes
• Prepare reports and maintain records related to building inspections

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field
• Minimum 5 years of experience in building inspection or related field
• Knowledge of local, state, and federal building codes and regulations
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Qualifications

• Experience with computer software such as AutoCAD and Microsoft Office
• Proficiency in using building inspection software
• Knowledge of safety protocols and emergency response procedures

Pay

$60,000 - $70,000 annually
