About the role

The Color Weigh-Up individual will weigh up pigments and additives for use in production.

Responsibilities

  • Measures appropriate weights of pigments for specified customer colors
  • Monitors inventory levels associated with pigment mixtures used to color plastics
  • Assist the production colorist with molding color chips and other duties
  • Maintains a clean working environment
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-speed environment, follow standardized work process, and adhere to safe work practices in a continuous improvement environment
  • Excellent attention to detail required
  • Must be able to operate/monitor equipment during operation to ensure quality production
  • Read and follow manuals and procedures
  • Maintain a clean and safe workspace
  • Must be dependable and have excellent attendance
  • Possess a positive attitude
  • Must be willing and able to work overtime as needed, up to every other weekend
  • Willing and able to work in temperature extremes – hot and cold
  • Must be able to pass a forklift test and a respirator fit test
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English

Qualifications

  • Passing score on the RTP Company Color Test
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous manufacturing experience preferred

Physical requirements and working conditions

  • Must be able to lift up to 60 lbs. regularly and stand for an 8-hour shift
  • Specific vision abilities may require close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus
  • Requires the use of safety equipment as dictated by the work area such as safety glasses and shoes, respirators, face shield, hearing protection, Tyvek suit, gloves, etc.
  • Exposure to noise levels above the OSHA action level may be possible
  • Proper personal safety equipment is to be used while performing this job as pointed out by plant safety procedures
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, dust, fumes, airborne particles, chemical dust, and risk of electric shock and non-hazardous chemical agents
  • Employees are regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles
  • The employee is occasionally exposed to hazardous materials as defined by the OSHA Hazard Communication standard

Schedule

Monday-Friday (3 pm-11 pm)
