Color Weigh-Up - 3rd Shift

Responsibilities

• Makes appropriate weights of pigments for specified customer colors
• Maintains inventory levels associated with pigment mixtures used to color plastics
• Assists the production colorist with molding color chips and other duties
• Maintains a clean working environment
• Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-speed environment, follow standardized work process, and adhere to safe work practices in a continuous improvement environment
• Excellent attention to detail required
• Must be able to operate/monitor equipment during operation to ensure quality production
• Read and follow manuals and procedures
• Maintain a clean and safe workspace
• Dependable and good attendance required
• Possess a positive attitude
• Willing and able to work overtime as needed, up to every other weekend
• Willing and able to work in temperature extremes – hot and cold
• Passes a forklift test and a respirator fit test
• Absence is an essential function of the job
• Ability to read, write, and speak English

Qualifications

• Passing score on the RTP Company Color Test
• High School diploma or equivalent preferred
• Previous manufacturing experience preferred

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

• Must be able to lift up to 60 lbs. regularly and stand for an 8-hour shift
• Frequent exposure to wet and/or humid conditions, dust, fumes, airborne particles, chemical dust, and risk of electric shock and non-hazardous chemical agents
• Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles
• Occasional exposure to hazardous materials as defined by the OSHA Hazard Communication standard
• Exposure to noise levels above the OSHA action level may be possible
• Use of personal safety equipment as dictated by the work area such as safety glasses and shoes, respirators, face shield, hearing protection, Tyvek suit, gloves, etc.
