About the Role
Weigh up pigments and additives for use in production.
Schedule
- 2nd shift: 3pm to 11pm, Monday - Friday
- Potential for overtime including weekends (Saturday and/or Sunday)
- Assigned to an A/B rotating weekend schedule
- Training on 1st shift for 2 weeks
Pay
Hourly rate: $26.35/hour, including shift differential.
Responsibilities
- Measures appropriate weights of pigments for specified customer colors
- Monitors inventory levels associated with pigment mixtures used to color plastics
- Assists the production colorist with molding color chips and other duties
- Maintains a clean working environment
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-speed environment, follow standardized work processes, and adhere to safe work practices in a continuous improvement environment
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to operate/monitor equipment during operation to ensure quality production
- Read and follow manuals and procedures
- Maintain a clean and safe workspace
- Dependable with excellent attendance
- Positive attitude
- Willing and able to work overtime as needed, up to every other weekend
- Willing and able to work in temperature extremes – hot and cold
- Able to pass a forklift test and a respirator fit test
- Attendance is an essential function of the job
- Able to read, write, and speak English
- Passing score on the RTP Company Color Test
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous manufacturing experience preferred
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
- Must be able to lift up to 60 lbs. regularly and stand for an 8-hour shift
- Specific vision abilities may require close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
- Requires the use of safety equipment such as safety glasses and shoes, respirators, face shield, hearing protection, Tyvek suit, gloves, etc.
- Exposure to noise levels above the OSHA action level may be possible
- Frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, dust, fumes, airborne particles, chemical dust, and risk of electric shock and non-hazardous chemical agents
- Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles
- Occasionally exposed to hazardous materials as defined by the OSHA Hazard Communication standard
